Capital Crescent Trail From Silver Spring to Bethesda to Close on Sept. 5 for 4 to 5 Years

This is to advise you that earlier today, Purple Line Transit Partners, the public private partnership entity that will construct the Purple Line, issued a formal Trail Closure Notice dated August 29, 2017, announcing that the Capital Crescent Trail running from Woodmont Avenue in Bethesda to Talbot Avenue in Silver Spring will close on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, for four to five years because of construction of the Purple Line.  A copy of that notice is attached here FINAL GTB Trail Notice SS.

If you have any concerns about this precipitous action, with essentially just one week advance notice, you may want to consider contacting Roger Berliner, who is the Montgomery County Council representative serving the North Chevy Chase area and is also currently the President of the County Council.  He can be reached at the following phone number or email address:

Pet of the Month- Einstein!

Hi! I’m Einstein Theis.  I’m a 2.5 year old French Bulldog. I love playing outside with sticks and trying to get the birdie when my humans play badminton. I know many tricks to get people to give me a treat — I can sit, stay, come, or give my paw. My best friend is Teddy the golden retriever, because he doesn’t get upset when I jump on him. My favorite thing to do when I am tired is to lie down on a cold floor like an alligator. I recently completed Sidewalk Dog Training with David Schmucker, and now my humans are better than ever! Although I may bark at you, that just means I would love to be your friend.
