On Saturday, 08/05/17 at 10:30 AM Maryland Zoo Presents: Sensory Safari: Learn about the five senses and discover how animals use their senses to survive. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Library, Chevy Chase Chapter. Space is limited. Please pick up a free ticket at the information desk on the day of the program.
On Saturday, 08/05/17 at 2:00 PM Foreign Film Series: Coming Home (2015) China. After years as a political prisoner in a labor camp during China’s Cultural Revolution, Lu returns to his devoted wife Feng, only to discover she has amnesia and is unable to recognize him. Join us for screenings of a variety of films from around the world. Film is typically shown on the first Saturday of each month. All movies have English subtitles. Screenings will begin at 2:00 p.m.
On Monday, 08/07/17 at 4:30 PM Read to a Dog: Chevy Chase Library is partnering with P.A.L. for a read to a dog program the first Monday of every month! Young readers will be able to share stories with a furry friend. Dogs will never judge or correct them, which allows them to really improve their reading skills. Drop in.

On Monday, 08/21/17 at 10:30 AM Solar Eclipse Storytime: Learn fun songs and stories about space to celebrate the solar eclipse happening today! We will learn about space and practice early literacy skills like singing, reading, finger plays, and more.
On Monday, 08/21/17 at 1:30 PM Solar Eclipse Viewing Party!: The Chevy Chase Library will be hosting a viewing party for the 2017 Solar Eclipse! We will have a limited number of solar viewing glasses available for registered attendees. Registration begins on August 7th. If the eclipse is not visible from our area, we will be streaming the event live in our meeting room.
On Tuesday, 08/22/17 at 11:00 AM Energy Express Workshop: Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) will be hosting this Energy Express workshop where kids age 8 to 12 years old can learn about renewable energy and energy efficiency in a fun, interactive, and hands on way. Space is limited, please register for this program. Parents/Caregivers are encouraged to attend with their child.
